Birth and Education:
Dr. Dadwal was born in Saloh Bheri, Ghanari, Una. He completed his elementary education at the Government School in Saloh Bheri (under Punjab School Education Board), where he consistently ranked first in school and Una district. He completed his education up to higher secondary from Tanda and Una, again ranking first. He earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. (Agricultural Science) degrees from Punjab University, Chandigarh. He completed his M.Sc. and Ph.D. (Agricultural Science and Soil Science) from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, under the College of Agriculture, Palampur, securing first position and winning two gold medals.
He pursued his Ph.D. at Agra University, where he also stood first. During his service, he completed post-doctorate/specialized training at Mississippi State University, USA. After returning to India, he collaborated with American scientists and successfully organized a U.S. workshop.
Important Appointments:
Dr. Dadwal was appointed as a scientist (Class-1) in the Indian Agricultural Research Institute in 1978 through the All India Examination. He later held positions such as Scientist S-2, Scientist (Selection Grade), Senior Scientist and Officer-in-Charge, Principal Scientist, Head of Department, and Director. In 2012, he retired from the post of Director and Head.
Work Area:
Dr. Dadwal has conducted research on the utilization of natural resources for over 35 years. His work has been recognized at both national and international levels, bringing him significant fame.

Research Papers and Books:
Dr. Dadwal has published over 300 research and technical papers in various national and international journals/magazines. In addition, he has written and edited more than 30 books.He has served as advisor, chairman, and member of many national-level committees. He has successfully organized many high-level conferences and presented research papers at various national and international meetings.
He has also guided Ph.D. students and provided consultancy to state governments in agriculture and water management.
After his retirement from service, Dr. Dadwal has made significant contributions to the development of rural areas through various programs. His leadership continues to teach and inspire many of us.
I would like to say that Dr. Dadwal is a role model of dedication, hard work, integrity, impact, and character. Certainly, his visionary thinking and commitment will take this school to greater heights.
He has not only achieved national and international recognition but has also brought pride and fame to his village, district, and the country.
